The party arrives in Rooz via the north-eastern fields, which are presently fallow.
The party notices the numerous mushroom-shaped vents which should connect to a large underground structure. Determining they may be trapped in some way, the party proceeds towards town without investigating closer.
The Scrungley Mole
- A particularly garish Goblin-themed Inn near the centre of Rooz. Its centrepiece and namesake a particularly poorly-taxidermied mole, claimed to be created by an ancient goblin tribe for display on a war-totem.
- The Scrungley Mole serves a special "Firbold Brew" from the local Firbold Brewery currently run by the Firworn family, descendants of the founding Firbold family.
Enzarr's Owls
In the town market, an innovative mail system employing owls from the nearby wizard Enzarr's own owlery is discovered by the party. Noticing adventurers in their midst, the alderwoman of Rooz asks the party to check on Enzarr in his tower on the hill.
Approaching the tower, the party discovers multiple dead imperial soldiers, similar to those who led the chain-gang they escaped from days prior. It seems they may have been attacked by perytons or some other beast on their approach.
Inside the tower, the party is confronted by a hungry and angry owlbear who they are forced to put down. Whisper ascends the tower and is able to coax a spare key to the wizard's chamber on the top floor from one of the owls in the owlery which occupies the space beneath the raised conical roof of the tower.
