The Harfoot

I'll never forget the halfling Jarl of Nightburrow and his would-be final stand upon that fateful cliff. The swing of his battle-axe was true, so true that after slicing clean through the kobold before him, its heavy blade plunged squarely into the rock beneath his feet, dislodging part of the cliff itself and sending the halfling plummeting to what I assumed at the time would be certain doom. But as he fell, from the bottom of the canyon I swear I saw a soft, peaceful smile spread across his face before I lost sight of him behind a rocky outcrop. When moments later he leapt up atop a large boulder and let out a victorious bellow, he must have noticed our looks of awe and amazement. I never did receive a proper explanation from the Jarl except a jovial "I've always had an amicable agreement with gravity." with a wink and a nudge. I always knew halflings were generally agreeable folk, but that was something else...
