Goblin Country

The party has entered an unfamiliar region, recalling only that the south-western provinces of the empire owe their long though mostly forgotten history to a vast civilisation of interconnected goblin tribes and communities. A rough estimate based on the density and condition of the known goblinoid ruins in the region indicates this civilisation collapsed at least a thousand years ago.

Ghurkliak

The language of Goblins - known as Ghurkliak - is an unapologetically guttural and simple language... On the surface. Scholars of goblinoid linguistics note that intonation, repetition, and flailing of limbs may alter the meaning of words and phrases in complex ways. Historical research concluded that Ghurkliak was highly contextual, but (to the frustration of the linguistics community) several new ground-breaking studies suggest the language may in fact be "semi-improvisational" at a fundamental level. This suggests a layer of complexity not found in any other known language, humanoid or otherwise.

The Elgugg Woods

Outcrops

Small totems of skewered critters
Lizards (jer-jer-ubs).

Deep Woods

The party finds themselves at the exact spot they were several hours ago despite following the same unbranching path they entered the woods on.

A deranged human, filthy and wearing a crudely-carved wooden mask that looks vaguely goblin-like, informs the party that only goblins may pass through these woods.

Cave of The Goblin Shaman

The party finds a spacious cave with multiple rooms.

The goblin shaman who placed the curse on the woods is found dead, eaten by his own pet giant lizards.

The party lifts the curse by offering the body of a giant lizard on the shaman's alter within his shrine to Maglubiyet.
