House of Cards
In the cramped bunks of The Scrungley Mole, a strange and disturbing dream is shared by party members Whisper, Juggles, and Pipistrelle.
As they descend into the dream, a disembodied voice (or voices?) speaks the same words to each:
Don't be alarmed, but we may only contact you through your dreams. Powerful forces work against us, but we will not be discovered here.
Enter the House of Cards. Reach The Vault, the thirty-sixth room of the thirty-five-room mansion. There are several ways to open or bypass its heavy door.
Inside The Vault - the room which does not nor cannot exist in your world - we have left what we can to assist you on your quest, though what can be removed from The Vault is limited.
Sincerely, your allies from elsewhere.
In the dream, the three enter the magical House of Cards, where reality consists purely of a grid of large square rooms. The room on the other side of every closed door is decided by a deck of cards with 6 suits distinguished by colour: Red, Blue, Green, Gold, Purple, and Grey. There are an estimated 6 possible card values of each suit.
Before they could traverse beyond the 2nd "row" of rooms, the dream ended with another ominous message:
The Ruins below Rooz tell a familiar story - or at least the beginning of one - which may replay in time.
Its ending has been lost to time, weathered from the ancient stone. It waits to be written anew.
The party awoke back in their lodgings in The Scrungley Mole, with no lasting affect to their persons.
